Discipleship at Ballygilbert
We are committed to encouraging, and implementing the building up of believers
in their faith in Jesus Christ, challenging them to grow beyond where they
are spiritually at present and training them to eventually teach, train,
and take others beyond themselves to a transformed life of mission and purpose.
Main Implications of Core Purpose to the work of The Discipleship Team
- A deeper walk with Christ and spiritual maturity will be treated with high regard and modelled by those with leadership responsibilities.
- We will both informally and formally train and encourage our people in personal discipleship, growth, and spiritual disciplines.
- A variety of opportunities will be provided for building and developing discipling relationships and for teaching amongst believers, including all ages and maturity levels.
- Discipleship will be encouraged in every facet of church life, through both large and small groups and in one-to-one settings.
- Believers will be encouraged to move to higher and higher levels of maturity as they grow in Christ. As a church family we will rejoice in their progress and lovingly hold ourselves accountable to each other and to God.
