I'm new, what do i do?

List Title

It's hard to step into any new activity or any new community for the very first time. If you're new and thinking about visiting BPC - or just joining us online as a first step - we want to help make that as easy as possible for you and let you know what to expect so you can explore with confidence.

What to Expect

Services at Ballygilbert are relaxed and easy to follow. We sing a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary music as part of the service. There are prayers, an offering (you don't have to contribute if you don't want to), and a talk on part of the Bible. All of that lasts no more than an hour, and we gather for tea & coffee afterwards in our Welcome Area.

What should i wear?

You can wear what you like (almost!) Most come smart casual, some like to dress more formally, but there is no need to wear a suit, dress, or hat. We want you to come as you are and be comfortable.

do i have to join in with everything?

We sing together, pray together, and listen together but there's no pressure to take part. You can simply come along and watch what's happening.

What time should I arrive?

We meet on Sunday mornings at 11.00am. Most people gather-in around 10.45am and take their seats. You'll be welcomed by one of our members and given an order of service to follow. We usually finish inside the hour, just before 12.00pm.

If i come alone will anyone talk to me?

Yes, absolutely! We are a friendly bunch and love chatting before and after the service. We meet for tea & coffee afterwards which is a great way to meet people and encourage one another.

can someone pray for me?

Yes. If you would like someone to pray with you, we can do that quietly and confidentially after the service.

Where should i sit?

You can sit anywhere you like. There are no assigned seats in Ballygilbert.

I have young children who may be noisy

That's no problem at all. We love children and their energy. They can stay in for as long as they want or head-out with our Sunday School. Younger children can escape to our large vestibule where they'll find activities to keep them occupied. Our service is broadcast into the vestibule so you won't miss anything.

i have questions about God and christianity

That's good! Lots of us have big questions about faith and the claims of Jesus. Gathering as a church to listen to God's Word is a big help, but we can also point you in the direction of good books and courses that go a little deeper. Our minister is also very happy to meet one-to-one to talk about anything you like.

Our Services

We warmly welcome you to join us for our Sunday services. It's a time of worship, teaching, and fellowship for all ages.
